22 months to the day

I started this quilt January 7, 2007(follow my journey here) And today, after 3 days of quilting(roughly a total of 10 hours), I am finished.

In August, I discovered the quilt wasn't big enough(or it would be if I added 22inches of borders to each side of the quilt). So I did 12 more blocks(bringing the total to 48)

The quilt measures 111inches squared(okay it shrunk to 109x110 after the quilting). I used 15 bobbins, broke 2 needles(one punched a hole through the top and back on one needle break). I figure the cost to be around $500 in fabrics(and that doesn't include the quilting cost or batting) I used the quilting pattern Fay Feathers

It is massive(and weighs a ton!) Wonder how long it will take to get the binding on? lol

  1. You did an amazing job on this! I am so impressed. And, of course, it looks even more stunning in person! Hey, where's the pic of you on buried under the quilt? ;-)

  2. Oh, wow! This is absolutely beautiful and it should be due to all the work you put into it!

  3. It's beautiful

    Love and hugs Gina xxx

  4. Beautiful! Three days of quilting alone? I would have lost my mind!

  5. Congratulations on this beatiful quilt!

I had to put word verification back on; just too much spam! Sorry, I'm not a fan either!!
