5 Minutes Chocolate Cake in a Mug
4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp oil
3 tbsp choc chips
small splash of vanilla
1 large mug
Put dry ingredients in mug and mix. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in milk and oil and mix well. Add choc chips and vanilla and mix again.
Place mug in microwave (1000 watts) and cook for 3 min. The cake will rise over the top of the mug but don't be alarmed. Allow to cool a bit and tip out on a plate if desired or eat right out of the mug.

Next week is teacher appreciation week at our school. I had volunteered to do some cards as a gift for the teachers. To be honest, it totally slipped my mind until a phone call yesterday at lunch to remind me. And the cards needed to be at the school today. So I quickly did up 5 cards last night(2 of each card)
Easy Chocolate Cake
I made this last night and it is fantastic; almost brownie-like. Enjoy!
* 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
* 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, plus more for pan
* 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1 cup sugar
* 3 large eggs
* 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
* 1/2 cup sour cream
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8-inch round cake pan; line bottom with wax paper. Butter paper; dust with cocoa powder, tapping out excess; set aside.
2. In a medium bowl, sift together cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then beat in vanilla. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture alternating with sour cream, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
3. Spread batter into prepared pan. Tap pan firmly on countertop several times to force out large air bubbles. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from oven, Cool 10 minutes in pan, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely (bottom side up). Set rack over a rimmed baking sheet. Pour glaze over; spread gently to coat entirely. Let stand until set. Garnish with chocolate shavings. Serve with whipped cream.
Makes enough for one 8-inch cake
* 4 ounces coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate
* 1/2 cup heavy cream
1. Place chocolate in a medium bowl. In a small saucepan, bring cream to a boil. Pour over chocolate; whisk until smooth. Let cool until thick yet pourable, 2 to 3 minutes.
And I hurt. And because of that, I'm cranky lol.
I got a little carried away yesterday and today and quilted 4 quilts. In roughly 5 hours. And now I'm paying for it; my arms hurt, my back hurts, my shoulders hurt. But wow, did I do some great work! If I may say so ;)
Here's one of the quilts. I quilted this one with Winter White. I adore this pattern; it goes on so quick. I love the thread though, this pretty soft lilac. Now I don't have to work until Monday :)
That I started working on today. I shouldn't be starting a new project since I have two birthday gifts to complete this week(neither are started and one birthday is Tuesday lol) and I need to get cracking on my swap quilt for Kimberly
But in my defense, I was cleaning off my cutting table so I could start one of the above projects and I had to get this fabric off and away. So I started sewing the strips together. This fabric came from Hamels and was in a large ziploc freezer bag for $8. I bought 3 thinking I could make something for our bed but right now, I'm just sewing them together and not really sure what I'm going to end up with lol!
Check out the quilt that Cindy made with a similar bag of strips. She cut her strips in half though, I've left mine.
PS-anyone have any idea what this line is called???
Sweetheart Chocolate Lollipops
4 squares Unsweetened Chocolate
3/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
4 squares White Chocolate
Assorted Valentine sprinkles
PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Microwave unsweetened chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended. Add sugar; mix well. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour; mix well. Cover. Refrigerate 1 hour or until dough is stiff.
SHAPE dough into 2-inch balls; insert lollipop stick into top of each ball. Place, 2 inches apart, on greased baking sheets.
BAKE 8 min. or just until set. (Do not overbake.) Let stand on baking sheet 1 min.; transfer to wire racks. Cool completely. Melt white chocolate as directed on package. Drizzle over lollipops; decorate with sprinkles. Let stand until chocolate coating is firm.
Kimberly posted the cutest stitchery on her blog the other day. When I commented on how much I loved it, she suggested we do a little swap.

No, it's my finished love quilt! woo hoo! Got the top together today and fingers crossed that I can get it quilted before Saturday lol! I absolutely LOVE this quilt and even more so that it is entirely from my stash. Okay, I bought a meter of fabric for the binding but it was 60% off!
I've had this quilt cut out for what seems like forever and I am desperately trying to get it finished before Valentine's Day. Doubt I will get it quilted in time though. Poor M has a horrible cold and stayed home from school today. I went out for an hour and Jim said M cried for me the entire time. So I'm taking Tuesday off to be home with him again-and I should get the rest of this beauty sewn together lol
I have changed the pattern. The borders are supposed to be pieced like the 16 patch block. I don't like the look so my borders will be solid and wider. I'm loving how it has turned out so far!
Merry Cherry Dessert
1 can (19 oz./540 mL) cherry pie filling, divided
1-1/2 cups boiling water
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) Cherry Jelly Powder
1-1/2 cups cold water
4 cups angel food cake cubes
3 cups cold milk
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) Vanilla Instant Pudding
3 cups thawed Whipped Topping, divided
RESERVE 1/3 cup cherry pie filling for garnish, set aside. Stir boiling water into dry jelly powder in large bowl at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and remaining cherry pie filling. Refrigerate 45 min. or until slightly thickened (consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
PLACE cake cubes in 3-L serving bowl. Spoon jelly mixture over cake. Refrigerate 45 min. or until set but not firm (should stick to finger when touched).
POUR milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. Gently stir in 2 cups of the whipped topping. Spoon over jelly mixture in bowl. Refrigerate 2 hours or until set. Top with remaining whipped topping and reserved cherry pie filling. Store leftover dessert in refrigerator.
This quilt! And as soon as Hamels has the kits done, I'm buying one! And yes, this was taken on my grass in the sunshine this morning ;)
