Hello hello! Yup, not a pre-posted post this time lol. Thanx for all your emails and well wishes. Thought I would let you know that I am feeling fabulous since the surgery. Surgeon was thrilled with how well it went(as are Jim and I lol!) and the surgeon feels that that very long unfun chapter in my life has now been completed-yay!

Soft & Chewy Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies


1 pkg. (2-layer size) devil's food cake mix
125 g (1/2 of 250-g pkg.) Brick Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
1 egg


PREHEAT oven to 375ºF. Place all ingredients in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed 2 min. Beat on medium speed an additional 2 min.

SHAPE into 1-inch balls. Place, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets. Flatten each ball, in criss-cross pattern, with tines of fork dipped in sugar.

BAKE 7 to 8 min. or until edges of cookies are set. Cool 2 min. on baking sheets. Remove to wire racks; cool completely

Or obsessed? Obsessed sounds so bad, I'll have to go with addicted. And what am I addicted over? Twilight I read the books two years ago, the first movie came out in November(on DVD last weekend woo hoo) and the second movie is being filmed currently here in BC

I keep my books right beside my bed. I never know when I might be an Edward fix ;)



On the weekend I got the director's notebook. I got the Team Edward key chain for Christmas


I even got myself a Twilight T-shirt!


But the best thing of all, are all these. I'm going to do something extra special with these. Stay tuned

I'm having surgery early Wednesday morning. Fingers crossed that this is the last surgery I will need for a long long time! At least this time, my surgeon doesn't expect any surprises like we had last time.

I don't know how long I'll be down and out. I've set a bunch of posts to automatically post until Monday; I should be up and around by than but you never know


This quilt is for me. I even quilted it on my sewing machine(I ditched around the birds, than meandered the white. Completed the quilting with ditching the borders) I'm pleased with how it came out(even though the birdies have no feet lol)

We decided to take off for the weekend down to Seattle.

We even got to go into an old Air Force One. President Nixon traveled on this one

Peanut Butter Cheesecake Brownie Babies


1 pkg. (450 g) brownie mix
175 g (3/4 of 250-g) Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 cup thawed Whipped Topping
12 maraschino cherries
Make It!

HEAT oven to 350ºF. Prepare brownie batter as directed on package. Spoon into 12 paper-lined muffin cups.

BEAT cream cheese, peanut butter and sugar with mixer until blended. Spoon 1 rounded Tbsp. into centre of batter in each cup, pressing down slightly into batter. Bake 25 min. or until centres are set. Cool.

SERVE topped with whipped topping and cherries.

I'm so upset with myself, I made 6 cards last week and for some reason, deleted them off my camera before I could load them onto the computer-ugh! So I had no St Patrick's Day card to show you yesterday. But than I made another as this Bella is one of my favorites!

Today is the start of our spring break. Nothing makes a Monday better than sleeping in lol.

This is the quilt I made for Jim for his birthday. Yes his birthday was last month lol. I did actually get this finished last week. Just took me way too long to get it hung up on the wall. I love the big moose head in the center

It's been a looooooooooooong time since I've quilted a quilt on my domestic sewing machine. Hope it turns out lol!

Warm Peanut Butter Pudding


2 cups cold milk
1 pkg. (4-serving size) Chocolate Instant Pudding
1/4 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
1/4 cup thawed Whipped Topping


POUR milk into medium bowl. Add dry pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended.

SPOON evenly into four microwaveable dessert dishes. Top each serving with 1 Tbsp. peanut butter.

MICROWAVE on HIGH 30 sec. or until peanut butter begins to melt and pudding is heated through. Top each serving with 1 Tbsp. of the whipped topping.

All I did was stop by Hamels to pick up some border fabric for Kimberly's
quilty when this fabric caught my eye. How cute is this? And I'm thinking it is the perfect amount to make another little gifty I've been tossing around in my head. Can't say much more as it will be a surprise and she's a reader of my blog



Than I saw more yummy flannels. How adorable would this be for a little boy? And with a bunch of babies due in the next few months at our church, I couldn't pass this up. Plus some of the fabrics in the pink bag co-ordinated with this fabric.



And as I was paying, this fabric started screaming at me. Yes, screaming. I could not leave the store without bringing it home. What I will do with it, I have no idea. But how could I resist when it is $7.98/bag?

and just because

I don't have enough to do, I started on these two quilts. I got all the button-holing done on the birdies. They are supposed to have feet but I thought they looked more like vampire teeth so I left them off lol.



The flowers are supposed to be raw-edge appliqued but I haven't had good luck with that lately. It doesn't seem to matter if I used Heat N Bond or Steam a Seam for applique, my fabric threads. It is really driving me nuts having to go over a quilt after giving it a haircut. I know with raw-edge, the fray is more obvious(at least to me) so I will probably just go ahead and button-hole them. Clear as mud? lol!

Along with baby quilts are probably my favorite cards to make. And I love this stamp from Stampin Up. The light wasn't good in this picture(what else is new lol), but the ink matches the green strip/dot in the papers

I got all the applique finished today. I still haven't decided on a border yet so I hope to get that figured out tonight and get this quilted this week.

This pineapple is probably my favoritest part of the entire quilty.

Well my wish came true last night and we woke up to some snow this morning. All the neighboring cities around us got dumped on with snow over the weekend. And the weather reports teased us Friday and Saturday with a snowfall warning and we got nothing. I LOVE snow. Maybe it's because we don't get it as often or as much as other places but I love it



I also discovered what the strange noise was I kept hearing last night. Looks like the kitten(who's not so much a kitten anymore at roughly 5.5months lol) got a little crazy last night and attacked the border in the kitchen. Guess this means that I'm not keeping the border when I repaint next month lol



And because it is supposed to be getting spring like outside, here's a springy quilt for you today. Happy Monday!

saturday sewing report

Jim left this morning for Washington DC. My plan for the day was to sew all day long. Funny how plans can change! I was even up early for me on a Saturday(8:45am!!)and I had honest intentions of attacking my pile of want to do projects but I got the urge to do some spring cleaning.

4 hours later, I had beds stripped down and sheets washed(including mattress pads!) 3 closets emptied and re-organized(with 4 garbage bags of clothes off to the local Sally Ann). Also made a yummy dinner and some very tasty(if I do say so myself) peanut butter muffins

As a result, instead of completing my first weekend project in the few hours the magazine promised, it took me more like 6 lol!! I LOVE the Quilts and More quilting magazine. This quilt is from their spring 2009 issue. It's the big block log cabin quilt. And I'm happy to tell you it is made entirely from my stash. It used up a very minimal amount so I made a fun pieced binding to go with it(sorry the picture is blurry but I'm going to be lazy and refuse to go take another one lol)



Sadly, that's all I'm going to accomplish today. I had another quick project I was already to get started on when I discovered that the applique pieces need to be enlarged 200%. At least I caught that before I started tracing and cutting them all out!

And don't forget to change your clocks ahead tonight! And that means I should probably go to bed a little early tonight, tomorrow is going to come too early!

Layered Nana-Nutter Treats


1 pkg. (4-serving size) Chocolate Instant Pudding
2 cups cold milk
1/2 cup Smooth Peanut Butter
1 banana, chopped
1/2 cup peanuts


BEAT pudding mix and milk with whisk 2 min. Add peanut butter; mix well.

SPOON into 6 parfait glasses alternately with bananas and nuts.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour.

My mom and I spent the day together today. We don't do that as often as we used too so today was a special treat.

She surprised me with this lovely bouquet of spring flowers. They smell so good.

And when I got home, Cindy surprised me with these fantastic wooden pineapples. I have completely fallen in love with pineapples and these are lovely. A great ending to a wonderful day
