applique and a giveaway
I l-o-v-e appliqué and nothing is more frustrating when I have an appliqué project I want to do and I have no fusible web.
A few weeks ago I got an email from Label Stick asking if I would be interested in trying it out and than doing a review. Yes please!
Lapel Stick is basically a glue stick for fabrics; it doesn't get much easier than this to use. And like their website says it's a temporary non-toxic fabric adhesive that goes on in seconds and dries clear for Quilting, Sewing, Crafting, and Embroidery - replaces baste stitching, pinning, tapes, spray adhesives, and stabilizers. My favorite part? It won't gum up your needles or machines!
I've used Lapel Stick a few times; I have a table runner I made years ago where I didn't sew down the appliqué edges.
Lapel stick to the rescue!
I'm currently working on an appliqué baby quilt. I didn't want the heaviness of fusible web behind the shapes so I pulled out the Lapel Stick.
I traced my shape,
Cut out the circles and glued them down.
And the best part? After machine stitching 17 of these, no gummy sewing machine needle!
Want to try Lapel Stick? I have TWO to giveaway. Leave me a comment and I'll draw the winner on Monday.

('Cause you know how I love applique!)
It sounds great. I've never heard of it. I would love to try it. Thank you for offering this giveaway. :) email@example.com
Sounds like a neat tool! I don't like fusible webbing, so this might be the item for me! Thanks for the draw!
What an awesome product -- I'd love to try it!
I'd love to give it a try. I haven't found a great glue stick yet - they all have their problems. Maybe this one will be a permanent fixture in my sewing room
Ohh I have a project that I would love to try this out on. Thanks for the chance.
This looks like a great product to try. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
I would love to try this out. I'm a usually silent follower of yours. Thanks for your blog and the inspiration it is.
This sounds really interesting. Where can I buy it, in case I don't win?? :)
oohh. . .pick me. :) great review!
I've never heard of this kind of glue stick. Not gumming up the needle would be awesome. I would love to give it a try.
I would love to try the glue stick whether I win it or have to buy it. I am very new to applique and still trying to find my groove
This looks like something I would really like to try if I win or don't. What department of the store would I find it in?
I would love to win one to see what makes it different from the other fabric glue sticks.
Wow! Wonder if it works on wool too?
Finally...something that might ease my frustration with applique! ;) Thanks for the chance to win this fantastic product.
Cooool! I have used a regular old glue stick before to sew together slippery fabrics, but this looks so much better! I hate a gummy needle. (I learned my glue stick trick in a sewing class I took in college, but that was WAY back when! haha)
I would love to try the new stuff!
I'd love to try it! Thanks for all the information :)
I just ordered a glue stick I think it was a Fons and Porter....would love to try this stick as well.
This would be handy-dandy for my hand-stitched Inchy Hexagons for sticking the paper to the little fabric squares at the start! Thanks for a chance to win and try it!
Am I too late? Am I?
This definitely looks like a good item to try!! 8-)
I might be too late too but that stuff looks very useful!
